The UPDATED Shakespeare fly rod catalog thread is now complete from 1947 to 1981 (with the exception of the 1958 edition). Feel free to post to this thread anytime. Thanks to Tom and Steve, who made this possible AGAIN!

Remember folks, there are currently 190 photos just in this Shakespeare thread, so they can take up to a minute to load.

Wow! This is amazing! Thanks so much for putting in the effort to do this. A neighbor of mine's Dad died a few years ago and while going through his stuff, he found a Shakespeare fly rod that he never knew he had. Andy doesn't fish, never saw his Dad fish and didn't want the rod so he offered it to me. I found the rod on the pages of the 1969 through 1971 catalogs. It's the Wonderod Model No. FY-B215 7'-9" Standard Taper for a No. 7 line...$19.00.

If it was used at all, it probably wasn't more than a couple of times. It's all there and solid. The white finish is a bit yellowed and the cork is a bit dried out. Can anyone offer advice on how to "freshen" it up a little?

It would be best to start a new thread in the Rod Building forum on refreshing the rod. That way it will be easier to find.

Thank you for a useful reference. Rediscovered that a rod I bought in 1972 was a Ultra light 910. I've rewrapped it a couple times to replace worn guides and general wear, almost all labeling gone. Reelseat hardware, ferrules, and cork still very good shape. A pleasure to fish in small streams.

Thank you so much! I know have copies of both catalogs ( 49-50) from the two model 1390's I have plus a catalog for the wonder reel that works like a charm as well...

Although I can't read the brand from the picture, I think I may have the same outboard motor shown in the second picture on page 1 of this thread. It belonged to my father and is from the 40s.
