In the following posts will be a chronological list of all the original catalog listings for Heddon fiberglass fly rods, from their introduction in 1951 until the end of production about 32 years later. Many of the fly rod charts will also be included. Forum admins have agreed to pin the thread, creating a lasting and easily accessible reference for all to use. Many thanks to them. Bear in mind that, in the early years of production, Heddon was experimenting with different colored blanks, reel seats and hardware that may or may not have been referenced in catalogs.

Joan, at the Heddon Museum, was kind enough to send me a copy of the 1951 Heddon "New Items" catalog listing, shown below.

From Heddon's 1952 catalog, the first two glass fly rods ever produced by the company (a 2-piece and a 3-piece model). Just a single page in that first catalog.

The 1970 Heddon catalog. For whatever reason(s), the name of the "Lifetime Pals" has been changed to the "Stainless Wire Pals". The "Pro Weight" series has been discontinued.

The 1972 Heddon catalog. A complete departure from the quality catalogs of past years, with little or no thought put into it. Much less money! Heddon introduces the "Black/Silver Pal" rod series (with black blanks), along with a "New Pro-Weight" line of rods. The "Mark III" series is discontinued. The "Global Gold" rods are also discontinued. The "Global Brown" models are now just called the "Global" series of rods.

The 1973 Heddon catalog. James Heddon's Sons went from making an absolutely terrible catalog in 1972 to possibly printing none at all for 1973. Although the image below is supposedly the cover for the 1973 edition, I know of nobody who has actually seen one. If you, or someone you know has, PLEASE contact me.

Heddon's 1974 catalog. A quality catalog returns for 1974, along with several changes. Heddon has added five new lines of fly rods: The "Brown Pal", "Black Pal", "Green Pal", "Astro Pal" and the "Lucky 13" series. One new carded combo has been added, as well. The "Global" rods have been discontinued, as have the "Black/Silver Pal" named rods.
