novisor12 that's a cool group of rods. I've always been a fan of vintage Scott glass and it's no surprise Kenney's glass is every bit as cool as the old Scotts.

It would really help to show her my list of cane rods too. That will surely get you a free pass. :)

Mark, I look at your list and it makes a good list of what I should keep, sell and buy.

Carlz,
Happy to help. So.....What rods are you selling? :)

The rod built on the Claudio blank has a more sensitive tip to go with a progressive action; the FF84 appears to have an even parabolic action...the Claudio excells with dry fly-double dry-and I expect the FF84 to be more of an all around 5 wt.

My invariable comeback when people question how many fly rods I own? "How many GOLF clubs do YOU own?" And besides, fly rods are the only tools I've ever learned to wield properly, so I have a lot of affection for them.

Just the fiberglass:

One Steffen.
Three CGR's.
One Wonderod (flea market find)
One Heddon (first fly rod I ever bought)
One Epic
One Garcia Conlon (gift from a generous Forum member)
Two Phillipsons
One A& F Banty

Eleven--that's not so bad. But, again, I'm not counting the graphite and bamboo.

Half the jokes on the Forum concern husband's hiding the size of their fly-rod collections from their wives. I'm really curious. Does it ever happen the other way around? Are their wives so crazy about fly rods they hide their collections from their husbands? We know more and more women are getting into fly fishing, so it seems there must be some who have become rod freaks, but I've never heard of any. For that matter, how many women are members of this Forum? You'd think women would love fiberglass rods, with their sensitivity (I'm not joking here), and their beautiful aesthetics.

There are rods that my wife has talked me out of letting go because they are historical/beautiful/sentimental, and I appreciate that a lot.
One of my neighbors is a fly fishing woman, with two ancient Bengal cats and an overgrown, eccentric English garden. We’ve talked gear a little, but when it comes to how many rods we’ve each got squirreled away, she gets a coy twinkle in her eye and remains vague.

A supporting wife is a treasure. Your neighbor: she has a hoard, I'd bet.

In general, I don't expect anyone to 'self identify' if they don't wish. There are no questions about gender or age in the registration process. Any 'identification' that members may include in their posts is completely optional.

That also means I cannot verify members are who they claim. Some past members were banned for scamming us. Now any posts along the lines of 'Go Fund Me' or other donation requests get deleted. Sorry.

The exception is members that sell fishing related merchandise. If they wish to promote their products here, I expect they will let me know. I will add them to the Commercial Members group. Commercial members may start new threads in the What's New in the Market forum (and can use a signature block with their website address). I do expect commercial members not to start online brawls - that doesn't do anyone any good.

My glass collection consists of:

7'6 4wt Epic
7'2 3wt Barclay Brown Ale
6'6 3wt Scott F2
6'6 2wt Barclay Gila Special

I'm planning on replacing the Epic with a Barclay Driftless Special.

Hey folks,

New guy here. I am waiting eagerly on a Barclay 64p I purchased from a gentleman on WFF. I also have a few other rods.

Barclay 64p (pending, and dear God please hurry up and get here before I die of excitement)

Barclay built Ijuin 703 3 weight.

Thomas & Thomas LPS 864.

Howells 3 1/4oz. 7.5ft 5 weight bamboo.

I know they aren’t all glass but thats my notable collection. I also have some random cheap rods including a Cortland that I learned to fish with my dad when I was about 10 (probably my favorite for it’s sentimental value)

Bingerming, you've got a very nice collection, Possibly the ultimate collection for someone who fishes for trout on the east coast. Two nice brookie rods, an all around marvel modern graphite with the LPS, and a Bamboo that doesn't leave you needing another.

Thanks a lot. I take pride in my small collection and I actually am in South Carolina and go to Western NC to do most of my fishing. I was very particular with the rods I picked and pretty much love them all.
