I won a rod on Ebay today that was #1 on my list for finding. I'll share the rods identity once I actually get it ... most of you probably can guess it's general identity. But I'll report now that it was only produced for two short years, 40 years ago. I was seriously starting to wonder if it actually existed or not as I've been looking high and low for one for a few years now without one iota of evidence that they did other than pictures in a couple old catalogs. It was a long week waiting for this auction to clear but in the end I happily ended up paying much less for it than I expected. I'm anxiously awaiting it's arrival at my doorstep!

Cliffhanger?! You can't do that! I think I know which one. Look forward to finding out more about it.

Sounds great. I had to peak, I think I know, but I won't tell. Will be as much fun waiting for your final report as it is for a reel I have coming.

My avatar is the best I can do. I don't want to jinx my receipt of it. In the past, I've had rod and reel won on auctions ultimately not make it to me.

Did your new rod arrive yet? I'd love to know what you just purchased.

I primarily want to do some hiking & overnight camping into the Cascades East of my home with it. There are also a few remote spots in Rainier and Olympic NPs I'd like to explore too. I'm sure I'll be taking on the plane when I visit my sister in PA and my in-laws in GA for some brookie fishing on occasion too.

What year was the rod made? The tube looks original. Where do you plan to fish it?

Per the Eagle Claw Catalogs, just from 1973-74.

Dave, next time you come to GA for a visit, contact me and I’ll haul you around to some of my haunts here just across the GA line in southwest NC.

Nice find. I recently picked up a Trailmaster TR600, but it said Featherlight, not Trailmaster. The TR600 model was one of the first overseas Trailmasters made in Taiwan after the Yosemite plant closed in Aurora/Denver. Your flyrod is a tough find being that they were made only for a few years.
