Anybody know anything about a HORROCKS IBBOTSON 6 1/2 FOOT TWO PIECE MOHAWK FIBERGLASS FLY ROD?

Couldn't find this model in Johnson and Johnson.

My advice would be to look for another rod. I picked up a horrocks ibotson that looked pretty nice the other day for a few bucks. Well, I cast it and it was as stiff as a broomstick and casting was a chore due to too few guides. It was a 7 1/2 footer and only had 5 guides. That should have tipped me off, but I couldn't resist for the price, and also it came with an Ocean City No. 35 which is a neat little reel.

If you decide on buying it, I wouldn't spend much more than ten bucks, but then again I don't know too much about H-I rods.

Pete-

Is your rod one of the early "fiberous" looking glass, or more on the line of Phillipson/Lamiglass? I fing the older glass heavy, stiff, and clubby.

Bullet,
Mine was an Ike Walton model with a deep green blank. Its not the fiberous looking glass, it is rolled and the ridges (or whatever you call them) are only partially sanded.

I have one of their later spinning rods, I think it's a silver star. Very nice rod.
