Hello,
Has anyone ever seen or had a Heddon model 3503 7' glass rod before? If so, any idea on the approximate year it was made and what line weight it might be? I didn't see anything even close in the Wiki.

I haven't received the rod yet, but it supposedly has a Heddon foil sticker on it, but no line weight info. It looks like it has a nice reel seat and ferrule. It is also reportedly white fiberglass, and not painted white, so might turn out to be a cool find. I've seen photos of Heddon StarCast rods, but those look to be painted white, while this rod appears to be actual white glass. Anyway, thanks in advance for any history or info on this model.

LeoCreek ... interesting find. I'll look forward to more photos and our thoughts on it once it arrives.

Leo, this is a later model for Heddon. 1960's probably, for the money it should make for a great fishing rod.

Looks like it may be solid glass.

Anyone by chance have additional info on this rod? I picked one up and am going to start trying some different lines on it soon.

I don't think we ever got to the bottom of it 14 years ago at the time of the original thread. Often a new thread will draw a better response from current viewers, but I'll leave the Bbovett's query here in the revived thread because there is a photo in the OP. Possibly as our new member gets used to the site, he could add some detail pics. For sure, let's try to establish if it is solid fiberglass or tubular.

The whole answer is probably right here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60664

I believe that is a solid glass rod
The also did them in green 3503-G and also in black 3503-B
Rod shop I used awhile back got a Black one in for rewrap and called me to come check it out cuz he knows I’m a Hardcore Heddonist.. :)
Pretty heavy rods you know right away it’s solid glass when compared to a hollow glass rod
very similar to the 7ft south bend solid glass outdoorsman rods
It’s a 6/7 wt rod for sure .
I’ve been waiting for a minty black one to show up on flea bay .
Passed on a green one last year .
Your natural glass version looks nice ..

I apologize for the delay in getting the pics up, we were on an extended vacation. I’ve searched the catalogs, and may have missed it, but did not see anything about this model.
