Here is a book from Orvis with info on how to build a fly rod complete with guide spacing. I took a few pictures to post here.

Thanks, Ron, for posting the Fisher catalog, as well as to the forum member who offered the catalog.

I noticed that an 8' 4 wt (x2048) blank was not listed in this catalog, but they were offered at some point. In fact, Bob Summers is building up one of my 8' 4 wt blanks currently; it will be interesting how it compares with my 8' 4 wt Winston Stalker in action, feel, etc.

I ordered some blanks from a retired rodmaker in the UK, and he sent along this brochure ...

There's a bunch more pages, he did deep sea, bamboo, and spinning rods as well.

Does anyone have a 70's or 80's vintage Lamiglas catalog (or price list from some other catalog that lists the blanks).

Hey carlz!

I have an Anglers Workshop catalog from 1987 if that's helpful to you. They are a company right across the street from Lamiglas and it was handy for them to run over there for me and pic up any blank I needed that Anglers didn't have in stock at the time. It has listings for Graphite and Fiberglass in it. An interesting note is the catalog from 1987 is only 67 pages long compared to today's catalog from them and it's 211 pages.

If I can help with pics or anything send me a message.

Tooty

Angler's workshop rod and blank pages from that time would be a great addition. So would Kaufman's Streamborn Fly Shop.

I missed Tooty's post the first time through. I'm on a mission to educate myself about vintage glass.

If anyone has any Heddon catalogs it would be great to see them here - especially from the 50s and early 60s. Clarks has many of the older catalogs, but they stop c. 1952 and the last time I looked, all the images were gone.

You don't often see makers comparing their cane rods to their glass

This is really cool stuff. 2 years ago I bought a Phillipson rod and I wondered how old it was. Then I saw a Phillipson advertisement for sale circa 1951 on E-bay, and there was my rod. I was born in 1951, that made it special to me. And just like me, it is in excellent condition. Well the rod is in excellent condition, me not so much.

From the recalled 2004 Scott rod co. Catalog. I happened to grab a copy before they were all returned to the printer. :)
