I've enjoyed scrollng through all the old threads on here, so many of them very different to my fishing. It would be rude not to contribute something so here are a few pics of my local stream.
Not all from the same trip but will give you an idea. Its very much an urban stream though you wouldnt guess it from the pictures. Sadly is blighted by all the usual rubbish, old tyres industrial scrap etc.
The water runs of the cotswolds so limestone fed but far from a chalk stream. Its usually gin clear and mostly shallow so challenging fishing.

Heres me with the latest addition to the growing fiberglass collection a ********* YS93

Not sure if its due to the Limestone fed river or the gin clear conditions but the trout are often very colouful for Brownies

Sometimes its hard to belive its a very urban location when it can look like this. This was early on a summers morning

On a really good day I get to end a session with one of these

I'm not going to share the location but I'll happily point you in the right direction if your in the area

Can't complain about a local stream like that.

excellent..

I have a book, Coming Down the Wye, published in 1942 with woodcuts by the author, so I know the valley only through print..

Splendid! I can easily imagine dropping terrestrials along the edges at daybreak. And of course fishing until noon to facilitate a stop at Wye Valley.

Some of these small streams really are hidden gems. My local stream in Shropshire is of similar character (including the odd shopping trolley), although not always as gin clear. Nice pics.

I know I’m very lucky to have somewhere to fish like this on my doorstep.
Have to pinch myself sometimes.

It really is amazing what’s available if you go and look, I spent many hours walking and cycling in the area before I found most of these places.
Searching for them is what keeps me going in the closed season

It’s the closed season here so no Trout fishing until April. Rivers are all in flood at the moment anyway.
I’ll be dreaming of Mayflies on the river for a while yet.

Lucky guy! Looks like a real gem. The older I get, the more I understand that nothing beats your local water.

Great looking water. My wife and I visit family in England every few years. I was able to fish the Test on one of those trips. Having a pint after is always a treat.

That picture with the sun filtering through is very nice. Looks like very nice water and a bonus it is so close. Thanks for sharing.
