I've been considering a Jackpot for a little while now. I saw the rod sale and had to jump on it.

you'll love it! i use mine with a sa bass bug line for smallmouth and largemouth. it cast hairbugs accurately and as far as you would want. i tend to fish 6wts most of the time but the swing weight on the 777 is so nice that it doesn't even feel like a 7.

very nice bass. I love the lower swing weight of shorter rods. it'll be a warm water bass (Occasional bowfin) rod, and I hope to use it to get after some reds as well in the flats and creeks.

My Jackpot is one of my favorites. I'm mostly a bass/warmwater guy. I use mine with a SA Titan and a 3Tand TF70 reel. LOVE this setup. I fish mostly from a kayak and love this getup for big bugs, poppers and streamers. It is light and will cast farther than I need it to. I told Chris one day that he had built the absolute perfect Kayak catfish fly fishing rod after a weird day when I caught 5 very large catfish while bass fishing in Kansas! Even caught a longnose gar on it last summer. It's got some serious medicine!

I think you'll be happy with it.

That’s cool. Appreciate the line recommendations as well. Seems like everyone is throwing pretty heavy lines on theirs. I’ve got an orvis pro saltwater tropic in 8wt that I’m hoping casts well on it.

For floating line I use the SA Bassbug, for intermediate I use the Titan full intermediate, and if i need to get even deeper I use the Sonar triple density. It cast them all very well.

I paired mine with the SA Bass Bug line in 7 wt and an Aspen fly reel. Outstanding combination for smallies up here in Minnesota.

Got off a little early today and broke the rod in with a pond bass in the neighborhood I was working in. Rod is an absolute dream. I've got a 210 grain Orvis pro saltwater line on it and I feel like it could take something a little heavier. Probably gonna end up with the SA bass bug like so many others here. Even in "7 wt" that's a 240 grain line.

@ goose_ on all of my 7wt glass rods, I'll still use shooting heads in the 230-260 range. They can handle the weight just fine.

I look forward to hearing how you like that rod. It's on my short list.

I tried the rod with a Cortland Flip Pallot line in #8. A true #9 by grain weight. holy cow, this rod is a cannon. I only lawn cast it a few times but it really came alive with the heavy line on it.
