I’m so sorry I’ve not posted in a very long time, I hope this very long post will compensate for my absence.. My friends and I meet up in Wyoming every year over the Fourth of July, to spend a couple weeks of dry fly fishing bliss..
The winds really do put a damper on things but u can euro nymph in its stead.. I really hope you enjoy my pics I chose to highlight our trip..
Thanks
Rod Bo

Beautiful scenery and wildlife and the fish are fantastic. Looks like a perfect way to spend a couple of weeks. Thanks for posting about the trip. What were you using for gear? Did the winds subside so you could use dry flies?

The absence of mountains and the terrain reminds me of the Green River. I've heard it fishes really well. If it is the Green, I floated it 20 plus years ago and we caught trout as well as kokanee. We also camped and fished the origin of the Green one year in the Wind River Mountains. One of the most beautiful valleys I have ever seen and we fished the small lakes that are the origin and did really well. I hear now it is serious Grizzly bear country. Those fish are much bigger than I remember catching. Great job!

Great pics and fish, as per usual. We always look forward to your trip report from your yearly Wyoming sojourn!

Question: what am I seeing on your truck in those 2 places?

Also, glad to see the Rockwood is still chuggin' along well!

The pickup in the picture is my friend from New Mexico truck. The two objects on the truck are fly rod holders! They attach by suction cups and you can safely drive up to 60 mph and more..

If those fish are typical, no wonder you go back every year! I appreciate you sharing the pictures.

Only fished the Green River below the Flaming Gorge Dam … might move a little further upriver the next time …. Those fish are epic. BTW how did you enjoy the whitefish? I enjoyed catching a few but the guide was saying they get a bad rap even though they are a sport fish?

The white fish were extremely aggressive. The first picture of one was on a dry fly. Size 16 parachute pmd. In the evening it was a feeding frenzy of mainly white fish.. usually caught at least 10-15 a day..
In the second picture of one I was photographing each fish as I was trying to grand slam the river.
I came up short! I missed by one fish, the cuttbow.. caught the brown, Colorado Cutt, Snakeriver Cutt, Rainbow, and white fish..
The Colorado is normally the toughest one..
Hope I answered your question
