Took out a new to me Phillipson Master. I found this rod searching the internet and ended up getting some history on it. The woman I purchased it from said it was given to her now 70 year old brother (John) by their uncle (also named John) when he was a teenager as a gift. The rod was used only a couple times and sat in it’s original plaid cardboard tube until she sold it to me. I told her I would fish it in memory of her uncle and her brother. So here is the first fish dedicated to the John’s.

Nice to know the backstory on the rod and that it was finally able to get a fish on it again after so many years. Nice work to acquire it and share it with us. I have a A&F 7'6" rod inbound now after reading all the positive comments on here about these Phillipson blanks.

When I see fine old rods in perfect condition, it gives me pause because I think of all the unfulfilled dreams of the past.

Of course, I snap them up when I can.

Mine is much more worn than that but it is still a great rod. You’ve a treasure in appearance and performance.
