Looking around my basement for a rod to fish with a big large arbour reel I recently acquired, I came up with this. They balance very well. Can’t wait to try it out on bass, pike, or stripers next year.

Nice! would make a nice spey reel.

I found this on the spey forum:

Sage Model 709, weighs 5.5 oz., Diameter 4 1/4", width 1 3/8”. Capacity WF8 and backing.

Sage Model 707, weighs 4.5 oz., diameter 3 3/4", width 1 3/8”. Capacity WF7 and backing.

Sage Model 705 weighs 3.75 oz., Diameter 3 1/4" width 1 3/8”. Capacity WF6 and backing.

I've often thought that with my Danielsson's (which is what these are). I use that largest size for tiger muskies...an absolutely fantastic reel.

I liked it so much I bought the next two sizes down for trout, steelhead, smallmouth, and carp.

Cheers!
