If anyone has experience with Epic glass rods, could you comment on the rod’s accuracy?

I have two first generation Epics, 476-3 and 580-3. Also two second generation ones, 476-4 and 580-4. Normally I cast 20 to 40 feet with these rods. I mostly sight fish. I have not had them out trying to cast into tea cups in the yard, but at my normal fishing distances they will put the fly at or close to where you need to cast to get a trout's attention. My physical abilities or lack of and wind being the most important factors as to whether a cast is accurate enough or not.

Epic rods are at the upper echelon of glass and are wonderful casters. I believe casting accuracy is more of a function of the casters skill level than the rod. The line is going where one points the rod’s tip. Practice makes perfect!!!!

Every Epic blank is going to be a good caster, however action of their tapers have changed through each redesign.

rods aren't accurate, but people are.

generally speaking, of course. re: Epic rods, my 1st gen Bandit is one that I'm holding onto for a very long time. It is one sweet tiger musky rod for the flies I throw.

I think they are very good rods for sight fishing. Their tip recover is very quickly with very little tip wobble. They can throw a nice tight loop. I think they are among the best blanks around really wish they made them in brown or honey though

The Epics being medium fast to fast progressive tapers with fine tips are fairly easy to cast accurately from up close out to longer fishing distances.
