I spent the last week and a half in the Eastern Sierra. The fishing was slow at most of my favorite lakes possibly due to very low water conditions and a drastic drop in water temps. Sunday was really nice temps in the low 60s and sunny then the next few days a storm moved in and provided some much needed moisture to the region. I did manage my personal best Sacramento perch and a nice hold over rainbow. Mostly fished with my 8’6” and 8’9” ********* 5 Wts. The rainbow made several runs into the backing and was an absolute blast on the 8’9” *********. It was really nice being in the mountains. Thanks for looking, Lanny

Awesome !

Good to see the snow ... it has been raining here finally; breathing a sigh of relief. Hoping to receive my first ********* soon ... talked to Dusty a couple weeks ago, sounds like the year has been crazy for him.

Odonata cool, what length and line wt. did you order. There are many great glass rods out there but *********’s are my favorite. It was nice to see some early snow in the Sierra. Hopefully despite a La Niña prediction we get a wet winter. Hope you enjoy your ********* their fabulous rods.

Man if there is one fish I've always wanted to catch is a Sacramento perch. It's so awesome to say that you caught the only sunfish native to the western United States and California. Good stuff.

Fly62, hello if you want to catch a Sac perch fish Crowley lake in late May early June the lake is loaded with them. They don’t fight nearly as well as a bluegill, red ear or black crappie but they are great eating. They love tiger and zebra midges at times you’ll catch more perch than trout.

I hate snow but those are nice fish and excellent shots of the deer.

Missed your question lkg, but the configuration I ordered was the 8'3" 5wt. Your description sold me, and the length / 3 piece configuration sounds about right.
