First time it's been wet in years.
We went after bass but no luck.
I ended up in a small creek that runs into the creek I was bass fishing in.
Being a 7wgt,this rod is a little much for bream, but we caught some fish.
7 1/2 ft.7wgt cast really good with a Cortland 444sl wf7f.

Nice Bronson 370 reel

Beautiful warmouth

I have that same rod----for a 7 wt., it cast well IMHO. I also felt that it had a unique feel when casting, but enjoyable. I put a 6 and or 7 wt. Dt line on it. These rods never got the respect they should have in the 4 pcs. style of that time. Glad you had fun----thanks for the report.

I've got one of those in a tube right next to me here at work. Not sure how it ended up in the shop.

I find em a little clunky, but nice functional casters. More a 7/8 for me. There is a lake that's just a short hike a few miles west of me, for whatever reason I almost always grab the WM when going there.

I always liked the action on those W&McG rods. They are great on medium+ sized water, and those old Grainger reel seats made it feel like a million dollars rod. A 7 wt. Cortland line on a period reel like that makes me nostalgic for the mid-1960s. Thank you for showing it.
