For some reason I woke up thinking about rods I hadn't used in a while and the CGR 6'2" 2wt popped up. Last time I used it a nice brownie on the Gunpowder fell to it. I was seven miles downstream and they had opened the dam an hour or so before and the water level was coming up fast. The rush was stirring up all of the junk that had settled on the bottom but somehow the fish found my soft hackle in the mess and put a nice bend in the rod.

So, I pulled it out of the rod locker and headed up to a neat little warm water river that's usually full of sunfish and fallfish with the occasional largemouth or striper, perfect for the 2wt. Needless to say, the second cast resulted in a 2 lb smallmouth and the rod once again was bending into the handle. I'm thinking this thing has some mojo and I need to get it out more.

It's a fun little rod. I've used mine fishing for California golden trout, and rainbow trout in some brushy coastal streams.

The Maxcatch "Gold" WF3F line seems to work well on it.
