Months ago i picked up an old Fenwick 7’ 4pc fly rod and finally got to try it out before the cold weather comes. A buddy and I fished a small pond near HWY 12 on the way towards White Pass which involved a short hike (3/4 mile). Weather was cloudy and about 60F. Didnt see anyone else but had a nice encounter with some elk including a nice 6pt bull. Rod was rigged with a Teeny T130 and an olive wooley bugger. I landed two in the first two casts and landed about a dozen in an hour. My buddy and I each kept two for a very nice relaxing shore lunch.
A perfect trip. Thanks for looking!

Nice. Don’t see 315-4’s very often.

I have one of those.... I think mine has a different grip....and it is waaaay rougher shape.

Not sure I can imagine fishing a Teeny line on mine... always just use a floater.

I was expecting another picture out in the sagebrush, your posts always remind me of home.

I fished a lot of places off Hwy 12 too, that one doesn't look familiar, racking the old grey matter......

Thanks for posting!

The pond is a ways south of 12, off a gravel road. I also brought a Medalist 1392 with a 5wt floating line which casts superbly on the rod, but decided to fish the bugger off the bottom first. The T130 works perfectly for that but I assume a full intermediate or slow sink line would be great too.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!
