My panfish special lacks the required fish size, image quality, and color but they tasted good and fit on the plate just fine for a wonderful breakfast.

Awesome photos and thanks for sharing. That ‘83 is special..

Dang Mike . Those fried bluegills look so freakin tasty . Pm me your recipe. I wanna try them fried full body style.
Makes me want a fried bluegill sammich with old bay seasoning and some lettuce from Mrs Ottobahn’s garden.

Why do we need a fish? Just put up a nice selection of rods, classics so there are no issues with current makers. Just sayin'

That would be the Collecting Forum. However, you are right that the photo doesn't need a visible fish. Fishing with Fiberglass Rods implies a fish is involved somehow (even if it is laughing at our pitiful attempts to catch it).

In the same manner that I asked for no discussion of catch & release, let's not go overboard with the slice 'em and eat 'em comments either. Please limit the dialogue to the photos. No more recipes...

Thanks,

Tom

Well I tried. Never could figure out how to post photos since the Photobucket fiasco.

[Fixed the photo. The image tags were missing. Nice photo! Tom]

This thread reminds me of reading a Playboy mag...read the first few posts, and then just peruse the enjoyable pictures from there out...

Sandman's photo of the bent Fenwick with Mt Hood in the background is awesome!

Perfect action shot of fishing with fiberglass.

If your reply in this thread disappeared, I'm sorry. I just mass deleted too many comments that weren't about the photos.

I hope we can make something useful out of a thread that started poorly. The photos are fantastic! Please, let's keep that rolling.

    To summarize;
  • We could use new masthead photos anyway. Most haven't changed for a decade.
  • The photo subject is fishing with fiberglass fly rods. The photo must have a glass rod being actively used for fishing (no rod rack pictures).
  • The photo doesn't necessarily have to have a trout involved (or even a visible fish). Do we have any saltwater photos yet? All species are welcome.
  • The masthead photos need to be horizontal images. Cell phone photos can be rotated and cropped. Be creative with your image, but please don't create PhotoShop artwork.
  • We will have a separate poll where forum members can choose their favorite photo.
  • Comments about anything other than the photos will be deleted (or edited) as forum staff see fit.

Tom

speaking of saltwater, wasn't there one a while back of Cameron with his Epic Bandit and a shark?

How about this one?

I swear I was fishing a glass rod, as a matter of fact it was my 6'6" 3wt Winston Retro and I released the fish.

[No deal - you didn't include your rod in the photo. ;) Tom]

Speaking of the Epic Bandit, sadly, you can't tell that I was hooked into a tiger musky

Fisher 8'6" 6/7. Sadly, my mug is in it...

just for giggles....this one swam away just fine....

I mean, rocks never hurt a fish, right?

I have no personal problem with the picture at the top of the page, but I'll throw my favorite pic I've taken - sea run brook trout on glass in the water

Tom -

As I stated to you in a PM a few months ago, “Your work on this Forum is commendable!” So, you have my vote to pursue this issue however you prefer.

Sandman's Mt Hood bent rod shot is pretty nice, too... love the others as well. The surf perch shot is close to my heart, but yeah clarkman's face ruins it ;)
