A large man made body of saltwater gave up this nice 23” fish. Fish were working the shoreline but no one noticed but me. The bait was very small, the fish didn’t show on the surface much. After a few hours of patience and watching, this one beat a bunch of small (14-16”) for the fly.

Pretty fish, and glass is perfect for schoolies. My go-to here on the middle Chesapeake is a Fenwick FF856 loaded with a 7wt Intermediate.

Definitely fun on schoolies.

Can't wait to get back to the Cape for the fall run.

Desmobob, is your ff85 the 7-8-9 wt? I have it and it is a beast, casting large flies with ease.

Good job!

You're lucky. We're up to our armpits in red tide around here.

Went and got an oil change on the Jeep yesterday and the place was stinking of it.

Good deal! I’ve only caught a few but they are a definite blast.

It is. I also have the FF858. Fun rods for stripers in the salt and largemouths in freshwater!
