My better half and I had attended a three day family event this past week in Albuquerque, N.M. We drove down from Montana. Long ride to say the least. So knowing we had to make that return ride we decided to turn the trip into a fishing trip on the way home. You know, to kinda break the trip up. We stayed in Amalia, N.M. and fished a couple of streams in that area. Some we had fished before and a couple of new ones. No, no spectacular trout came to hand but the insect activity was excellent. We had some of the best dry fly fishing so far this year. Midges, PMD's, several different Caddis, Green Drakes and a host of terrestrials. And, speaking of hosts, we met and fished with a fellow by the name of Aurelio Corso. Someone some of you may know him from this Forum. A fine host and awesome cook! :) We caught several nice pan sized trout from different creeks and explored some outstanding landscapes. Anyway, here is a quick photographic synopsis of the trip. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing! I lived in Albuquerque for a year from 1994-1995 and went back on a fishing trip in 1997. Have fished the Valle Vidal area, along with Red River and some others around Sante Fe. Your photos brought back some good memories.

Great pictures. Aurelio is indeed a great host and the streams do offer great dry fly fishing.

A pleasure to meet you and MJ as well. By the way, the camera is working just fine. That was a close one. :) It took a day or so to dry out. :) So I also found the photo of dinner. See attached. Excellent!

This guy can cook! :)

Picture perfect. My favorite part of the world. Looks like Aurelio is still in love with that F2. What other gear was used?

Ccrick52,
Yes, the F2 for Aurelio. For my wife the Winston 8' 4wt. graphite. A rod she has used for 24 years now. For me I spent most of my time with a Kenny 733.
