I found an early Sila-Flex F75-4 this week, foulproof guides so I'm guessing late 50's? Assuming its factory built, I much prefer the grip on this model (over later Brownings) as it reminds me of a Scott! The Action is slow, soft tipped and progressive. With the weight and good retained energy you can raise the back cast up and just let her fall forward and a nice loop rolls out with grace (Cast itself quality). Most would probably say this rod is too heavy & soft tipped, yeah I would agree. However, the fish didn't seem to care and neither did I... I love Vintage Glass, Farm Ponds & Panfish!

Some of my favorite kind of fishing right there! Awesome. That’s a sharp looking Silaflex btw. I’ve never seen one with the logo so crisp.

Great looking pond and nice Sila-Flex! I share your fondness for ponds and pan fish...

Appreciate the kind words! This pond is 1/2 mile from my home so its gets much of my attention. An old livestock family pond my Grandfather built decades ago that we reconditioned several years ago and she is finally producing some super healthy fish!

Side note, I just nabbed a crispy new un-fished Silaflex 322970 off eBay! These are becoming my favorites, have a Medallion M75-2 and another Browning model 222975 that keep me well entertained.
