Some of you may remember my dismay that I had lost my favorite 6 pc, 7 1/2 ft, 4 wt Lamiglas rod last summer. I looked and looked and could not find it, fearing it had fallen out of my pack while hiking. It had caught a lot of fish, survived a repair once when I broke it, and I was going to, and have, missed it a lot. Though I have the same rod in 3 pc and 2 pc, the 6 pc allowed me to hide it inside my pack to protect favorite fishing spots when hiking in.

It turns out that, somehow, after putting my pack in the car, the rod worked its way out of my pack and under the back of the seat cover on the driver's seat. When my wife took the covers off to wash them today, there it was. Hooray!

"It once was lost, but now is found...was blind but now I see!"

Maybe you were working it too hard and it wanted a vacation? Now it is ready to fish some more.

I'm glad you found it. Cutting a blank and making a new rod is fun, but the result still wouldn't have the karma of your old one.

Exhale! So happy to hear it. I'll bet missing that rod was really gnawing at you. I know it would if it were me.

A few weeks back i arrived home from a trip and was unpacking fishing gear from the car. Waders, boots, vest...rod...rod...?
Sick to my stomach as i realized instantly the rookie mistake i made leaving rod and reel still strung up on top of the car while BS-ing with fishing buddies.

Got up at 4am and drove 2hrs in pounding rain to find it intact in a ditch. A smile, a sigh of relief, and a happy song all the way home.

Here's to rods found!
