I went down to my favorite brook trout stream this morning, We'll call it Nonya Creek and took a 6 1/2' one piece Reed blank rod that a friend made up several years ago when you could get a Reed blank and it was a gift to me on my 78th birthday. It as a soft little thing and yesterday I tried a WF 4 Sylk on it, I was shocked at how well it casted. Forty feet was easy and that's all I needed on Nonya. The line was mounted on a 2 3/4 Duchess and balanced the rod perfectly. I fished a 16 Betty McNault and caught and released several small brookies and two 11 inchers which are nice trout for that stream. The day was sunny and 65 and the mosquitoes were kind. A perfect morning.

Nonya Creek is in southern Marquette County. It's not on a map.

I may have fished that one many years ago, when I was a Gladstonian. I remember the name as Nonyabusiness Creek.
Glad you got out, and nice brookies!
