Just got my first fiberglass rod (an 8wt) for salt water fishing. Live in Louisiana and am looking at doing my first saltwater fly fishing trip this Saturday. Anyone here have experience with glass rods on medium to big salt water game fish? Any advice and tips are welcome!!

I’ve used my ********* 8wt on Reds, Bonefish and even managed my first, and only, Permit on it.

No real secrets, adjust your casting stroke accordingly if you’ve been using faster graphite and have fun.
