Throughout our fishing year some of us snap any number of fishing related photos. Some good, some bad, and if we're lucky some memorable. As 2019 draws to a close I thought it would be fun to ask the question … what's your most memorable fishing photo of 2019?

Mine is of my Montana fishing partner Randy, on a three day, two night cutthroat adventure, camping in the high country of the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness:

my dad, 90-y-o with a limit of speckled trout caught under the lights - he was up alone at 2:30a the day the time changed - the rest of us set our alarms for 3:30.
He honestly looks 10 years younger in this photo.

p.s. - Dad has told everyone this is the best fishing memory of his life.

My weightiest subject of 2019....on a dry fly.....deer hair cicada. We had the 17yr cicada hatch on this river this past May/June.....it was a unique experience..........

Great carp - been awhile since our last cicada hatch, but river bass were impaling themselves on any popper, and their bellies were gorged - seen a similar phenomenon with plague-level rhinoceros butterflies.
I've sight-fished big carp with a a cottonwood seed imitation, watching them circle in the seed fall.

Good thread and great photos. My favorite outing this year was in November, a Monday afternoon where I had the bay to myself and there seemed to be fish everywhere I paddled. I didn’t seem to take any photos I particularly love from that outing, though. I’ll go with photo of a sheepshead from that happy afternoon.

Almost sixty years ago, I sat someplace near there waiting for my Dad to get a pic of that oft-photographed view of the Tetons. The clouds had to be right, the sky hue had to be right, the sun had to be right and so on. I just wanted to go fishing--which thank goodness teaches patience--which my Dad tested further by gawking all over the place taking pics of wildflowers, little rocks, insects, and so on. I still have the pic someplace, a painting of the same view that was a gift years later, and various prints and greeting cards based on the original slide. So I guess the wait was worth it. I would do it again if I could. Your pic was about as close as its going to get. Thanks.

Blessed to share annual fishing trips with my father and son. Son turns into a fishing machine on these trips.

A grayling I caught on a nice Colorado trip in September. Don’t seem to have any pics of the bugling elk.

I'm sure the farm pond people will find this amusing, but my big event was finding a warm cove and perfect campsite with a massive bluegill spawning bed, hidden way in the heart of the high Cascade mountain trout waters.

After enough trout, I miss the bluegill and they are scarce around here.

Top of the list is definitely fishing with my 80 yr old Uncle catching Beardslee Rainbows in the northern Olympics, everlastingly memorable

A long battle on a 605 with 3x tippet and a 19" bow, memorable....

Starting the day with this serene moment and view, memorable

Clear skies, a spectacular view and a bend in the rod, memorable

a high country lake, with trout rising, and another lake tucked into the mountain fold behind (for later). Basically paradise in my mind..

I made a cross country move over the summer, and I'm pretty happy that my last fish in Oregon and first fish in Massachusetts were both stream born natives:

One thing I really like about this forum is that people appreciate the most memorable fish need not be some whopper. (Though they can be memorable too, don't let me discourage showing us those!)

Hey all. I have been lurking on here awhile now. I figured this was a good thread for a first post. This was my most memorable and unexpected catch this year.

A wise man was once quoted as saying: "If you think fly fishing is only about the fish, you've missed the whole point!"

My Son and a great friend on a Wyoming "Cutthroat Slam" fishing trip in the LeBarge Creek Valley.
