3WT
Glass: Axisco Stream 7', Studio Thin Line 7' 3/4, Scott F70 3/4, Winston Stalker 6'6", Steffen Bros. 8' 3/4, Dave Lewis 6'6" 3/4
Bamboo - none
Graphite - none

4WT
Glass: Ed Shenk 5'2", Leonard LEF66, Wojnicki 217P4, T&T Heirloom 7'6", Winston Retro 7'6", Hardy Perfection 7'6", Cummings Superlite III 7'6", Wojnicki 237P4, Scott F70/5, Dwight Lyons 6'8" (tough to pick a favorite here)

Graphite: T&T Special Dry Fly 8' 4/5, Scott G904, Scott G904/4, Scott G1004, Winston DL4 9'

Bamboo: Menscer 8' para, Maurer Starlight Creek Special 7'6", Mike Brooks 197

5WT
Glass: McFarland 7'2" Spruce Creek para, Phillipson Reg. Epoxite 7'6", McFarland 8' Spruce Creek*, Leiderman/Steffen 8', Fenwick FF855

Graphite: Scott G855, Scott G905/4, Scott G1005

Bamboo: Maurer Old Philosopher 7'6", Maurer Bitch Creek 7'3", DG Schroeder 8'

* I chose the Leiderman/Steffen over the McFarland 8' only because of its versatility - the L/S is probably more able to use a 6WT line.

Favorite 3,4,5 weights?

3Weight
Glass: Kabuto 7033
Bamboo: MV Brooks “Impressionist Midge” 6’3” 2/2 3wt
Graphite: Sage LL 389 by far! This Light Line rod has always been one that I love.

4Weight
Glass: Steffen/Leidermann 3/4 3pc
Bamboo: AJ Thramer HDx 476 2/3 4wt
Graphite: Sage VPS Light 490-3 (or Winston 8’6” 3pc?)

5Weight
Glass: Steffen/Leiderman 8’ 3/4 3 piece
Bamboo: Dennis Stone Cascade 7”9’ 3/2 5 wt
Graphite: (Several Sages & Powells, but none a favorite.)

The Kabuto 7033 and Sage LL 389 are the ones I’m most emotionally attached to.

Wow, alot of rods being shown about ...
I have no use or desire for anything under a 5wt so as per the original post the only 5wt I own is a Sage SFL 476 that is a fast stick anyways so I fish it as a 5wt.
Everything else is 6wt and above glass and graphite single handers and a couple of two handers ...

3 Weight Glass:
McFarland Spruce Creek 6'6" 2 pc An older Spruce Creek. Fairly fast for glass, it has good punch for casting under overhanging branches.
Vladan Milenkovic Unstructured Glass Old Empire Build 7'6" 4 pc. :P A personal favorite - my go to small stream rod unless conditions dictate otherwise.

4 Weight Glass:
Barclay 70p Chris rates this as a 3-4 but I usually fish it as a 4. Action is similar to the Milenkovic.
4 Weight Graphite:
Scott G754/3 original G-series IMO this rod is as good as it gets in any material.
Scott G904/4 original G-series An excellent moderate action rod for when a longer length rod is appropriate.

5 Weight Glass:
Cortland Leon Chandler Signature 8' 5/6 it fishes best as a 5 wt to me. Light for an E glass rod and a sweet progressive action.
L. Kenney 8255 8'2" 5 pc. This rod can throw a 6 wt bass bug taper beautifully. It is capable of subduing large trout (large to me) quickly while retaining feel on moderate sized specimens.

I am surprised that there were not more CGR'S on this list and Redington Classic Trouts (great graphite rods)

I am a lightweight as a majority of my flyrods are 6/7 weights but here goes

3/4 weight
Cabelas Three Forks graphite (don't laugh, it is actually a very fun rod esp for what I paid for them)

4 weight
Not yet

5 weight
Fenwick 7056.

Notice that the vast majority of responses here are from 2008 to 2011. If the thread picks up again, you may see "all the usual suspects" of more recent fanfare, but they weren't the usual suspects back then. The lack of mention reflects the time period, not the relative popularity of more recent rods.

#3: Lamiglas FL783-6. Glass 6 pc, 6'6"
T&T LPS 903-3. Graphite 3 pc, 9'
#4: NFC Iconoglass 764-4, 4 pc 7'6"
#5: Sage Z-Axis 590-4. Graphite 9' 4 pc
J Green Original Series 7'10" Glass 4 pc
Fenwick FF70-4. D s/n. Glass 7' 4 pc
#6: The same Fenwick. Labeling says lines 5 wt through a 7 DT. I fish it with a 6 line.
Sage LL 690-3. Graphite, 9' 3pc
Orvis Manchester. Bamboo, 8'6" 2 tips. Wall hanger. Never been wet. Probably a 6 wt. S/N from 1950

This was fun. When you write it down, it doesn't look like so much. Built them all except the Fenwick and the Orvis bamboo.
