When Chris retired the 70P I got an extra just in case something happened to my original.

Blue Halo Gen II 7wt. This is a bang the reed line all day without fatigue fishing machine.

When my first one broke I was given the opportunity for a replacement, but could not retire the rod. BH customer service is awesome. The two tone looks good.

Ordered a second one because the Gen II 3pc blanks are not produced anymore.

If the budget allowed- I’d have a duplicate ********* YS Fast 4wt and a Trout Smiths 5wt carbon.

Not of the same brand but rather of the same type: I find that I have several 8 foot 6 weight rods and also several 8 foot 5 weights.

Carl, I thought I had the sickness.

I've been shrinking my duplicates and collection in general. There are too many beautiful rods in the world.

Gene Hill once wrote- if you find something you like, make sure to buy one or two more because they are either going to stop making it or the next version will be screwed up.
I subscribe to that theory.
my duplicates and triples are graphite -3 3weights and 3 6/7 weights from same manufacturer.

my glass are singles but I am working on the duplicates :)

I had been looking unsuccessfully for a Fenwick FF79 for some time. I finally gave up and picked up an FF806 as an alternate. Wouldn't you know it, I came across a beautiful FF79 while the FF806 was still in transit. So, I did the only rational thing I could think of. I bought the FF79 as well! The Fenwick grips fit my hand perfectly.

3 Fenwick FF79's and 2 Wonderod 1280T's. (I had a fourth FF79 that i gave to a friend, not to say I think 4 of them is too many.) I fish them usually with one of several Medalist 1494's.

Original Scott G Series:

- 882
- 904
- 905

Not glass, but definitely as close as graphite can get. I’ll typically pair with one of my shorter glass or ‘boo rods to cover all my bases...short rods for dries and droppers, longer graphite for tight-line nymphing, wet flies, or streamers (better mends).

The 882 is my go-to for small creeks along with my Orvis Flea.

Two of each of these ...

7ft -0in Wonderods - #910-ULs (one with "FY" Professional trim and one a "FYA" Purist trim)
7ft -3in Garcia Conolons - #2636-A

BTW, those Garcias are real sweet "sleepers" and not discussed much. Rated as a 6wt but actually either a 4 or 5 at most. But be careful, because the #2636 (no-"A") is a very different 6wt blank.

Earlier this year I picked up a second Fenwick Fenglass 5 wt. I use this rod about 2/3 of the time I have time to get out. After the earlier scare about them being discontinued I figured it would be in my best interest to get another. I helped that the local store had one about $30 under list price. They still have a 4wt. Fenglass on the shelf .....hmmm

Two Shakespeare Wonderods model 1290, both 7'-9", 6 weight. One is primary that lives in the truck (a gift from my dad lo these many years ago), the other is backup in the closet against the possible calamity (or gift to grandkid!). I fish them both with WF6F Cortland 444SL lines on either a South Bend Oren-o-matic model 1130D, or a J.W. Young Beaudex. Just 'cause I like them. :hat

At one point had two Scott F754/3, two Barclay 70p and two Barclay 64p.
Now my only duplicate is the 70p, one stout, one yellow.
I have two Steffen 5/6s but one's a 3pc 8' and one's a 4pc 8'6" ;)

Have two FF85, but they aren't exactly duplicates; one is marked 8, the other 7-8-9 and the guide spacing taper and feel are all different from one to the other.

Not really duplicates but I did fond a second tip for a Philipson 7.5’. So it’s like having another half rod.
I Do have two early graphite Orvis 9.5’ River Master rods. One is one of my first builds then a few years ago I found a factory version. I actually really like the rod for salmon and steelhead.

These types of themes are not good for me....... they only feed my inherent collecto mania weakness!!! must be strong, must be strong...

I have a couple of Cortland FR-2000 8', 6 weights because I couldn't resist a second mint one. They are that good. I love my Fenwick FF806, but I would part with it first if backed into a corner.
