Not quite duplicates, but two of the Garcia Conolon 7'3" two-star blue blank rods, plus a third eight-footer. The top rod in the photos is a 7'3" 2636C rod that I fished as a kid, fifty years ago and more. I bought the others in recent years just to have some extras available.

In bamboo, I am fortunate to have duplicates of some of the Paul H. Young models that I really like.

sort-of-duplicate, FF807 bought as backup for the FFL96-7 that I built decades ago. I realized that FFL96-7 is actually my favorite rod, out of all the graphites, bamboo, and glass I own..
Another sort-of-duplicate set, FL102-7 in both yellow and brown. These are both homebuilds, fishable but not what I'd prefer, so going to rebuild over the next winter.

Steffen 8'0" 4-5wt. I only have one but I've purchased 5 of these now for myself, my two kids, my daughter's fiancé, and a nephew and I don't intend to stop there. There is no better rod to start someone fly fishing for trout and panfish. I probably should buy myself another but they are not just a great fishing rod, they are tough as nails. None have of the ones I've purchased are broken yet despite numerous scratches and mishaps that would have shattered a graphite rod.

NONE and don't see a need. Maybe I have not found the right rod though?

I've never owned identical copies of any particular fly rods at the same time - though I have owned 3 or 4 of the Three Forks 3 weight rods over the years. For a long time that model was my absolute favorite fly rod. My last copy I gave to my mom after getting a Prime 5 weight for father's day last year.

I might be tempted to get another of the Prime 4 or 5 weights though - great rods and I'm sorely tempted to get a mate for one of the rods I have - so I can have two identical rods rigged with different setups.

In my gear fishing though - I do currently have twin setups with some of my bass rods, for exactly that reason.

none for me....yet. I'll probably order up at least one more Steffen 8' 5/6 blank before he retires (plus, if my son likes fly fishing, I'd venture to guess that's the one he'll end up with...hmmm, maybe I should order two).

Not glass, but I own two 8'6" 5 wt. 4-piece Redington CTs.
I bought one on sale and then had to get another, also on sale, because of how sweetly it casts a DT5F line.
Thanks to great timing with Cabela's, I scored them both for half of their MSRP and got them shipped for free.

Oh my gosh......

I'm nearly embarrassed and it takes a bunch......

I agree with whrlpool, if you find something you like buy at least 2.

Some Special Forces guys I know say "two is one and one is none"

For an example, I really like Tomo's 7'5" 4/5 hard-parabolic. I have 2 that Christian built and 2
blanks.

That's the most of any one I have but I own multiple duplicates built by different builders.

None in glass (yet) but I have plans for two more 1 piece 10wt Quartz rods from CTS before the end of the year.

I have 2 TFO 8-10 MiniMags that I fish with regularly from the kayak. One is loaded with a sinking line and the other with an intermediate line. (These two rods are to be replaced by the CTS Quartz rods mentioned above.)

I also have 2 Sexy-Loops Hot Torpedo 6wts, although one is for my casting instruction (painted white for the purpose) and is not likely to ever see a hook.

Cheers,
Graeme

Have two Diamondglass 8ft.4wts.2 pieces, one of my favorite rods. Also two Fenwick FF75s which is one of my go to rods for smaller streams.

I have dupes of Orvis "Tippet, Shakespeare 1290, Heddon 8381, and Fenwick: ff60, ff605, ff705, ff706, ff755, ff756, ff786, ff805, ff806, ff84, ff85, ff86, I guess that's it. Oh yeah, Cortland fr2000 8', fr2000 7', and a couple of 7.5' with metal ferrules. I guess I have a problem.

What problem is that? Duplicates aren't a problem, they are the solution to a possible problem.

Anyway, I always plead the 'fifth' on this question.

I’m too old to need two of anything except underwear but if I wasn’t I would try to find another Winston DL4 9’ #4.

No duplicates but 40 ++ McFarland, Kenney, Leiderman, Paddock’s, Orvis, T&T glass never had reel on . Retirement in a year need to consider serious sale. I realized that I actually need a plan to move inventory especially if relocating to salt water.

So far I don’t have any duplicate fly rods, but I have several fs83c and fs88cs for salmon and steelhead trolling. The closest thing I have in fly rod is a ff755 and an early ff75 larked for 5wt but they are very different rods. If I could get a second 5wt ff75 I would snatch it up though. It’s the best casting rod I have.

I've been seriously considering acquiring a second Driftless Special from Barclay, but since JASTrout has a rod I'd really love to have, I'll hold off for a while. :D
