Seriously....lol

Mine has certainly changed though. I regularly fish 2 10wt glass rods, the OG Bandit and an NFC Iconoglass. I also have a Seele 12wt that I use for tuna. I absolutely love my glass heavyweights.

I used to fish a lot with 9'9wt & 8.5' 8wt. and I still do occasionally. But more often than not it'll be a 7.5' 7wt these days.

I just stepped up to using 9ft Glass rods this year
Carlz hooked me up with this 9ft 8wt Phillipson Kit Rod sporting a Cigar grip ,Orvis Kit style Reel seat and Aetna Foulproof guides

It’s been a great Bass rod this summer!

I also have an Epoxite EF96 - 9’6” 5wt rod

Phillipson EF96 rods were designed for the accomplished fly fisher …
Do Sunnies on a stream qualify me as “accomplished” ?? :lol

These rods were also advertised as laying out a 5wt line softly as a thought ..

Not sure Bill Phillipson accounted for the scrambled frenetic “thoughts” of this Ritalin Kid ;)

Bend them Bigguns
Scotto

Fine rods there Scotto! Nice bass-n-gill.

Ive had a Fenwick Ironfeather 8' 14 weight for about 30 years which I used for sturg a long time ago. My most used big rod is my FF9010 (we have tiger musky in the lake I grew up on as well as pike in next door lakes) and I also have a poor condition 9311 and a pristine 9012. The other big ones are Echo Bag 10 and 12 wts and an Echo glass 7wt Spey for which I got all on discontinued closeout specials. My 10 and 12 wt Fenwicks cast nicer in my opinion than the Echos but the 7wt glass spey casts just as well as my 7wt Burkheimer spey.

I have several large weight class rods but my largest is this Fenwick FF9012 (1972); 9ft.; 12wt; 6.75oz.; S-glass.
I use my heavy weight rods here in Southern California for the coastal and offshore saltwater.

I don't know how I got on this thread, I didn't realize it when I made the Lazarus post.

My big rods are:
Fiberglass: SF Winston 8'6" 8 weight
Graphite: Orvis 9' 8 weight
Boron: Fenwick 9' 10 weight

Their intended targets have mainly been steelhead, with some occasional opportunities for stripers. All fun, and all get used. Not enough, however. :)

Graphite: Scott G95-9B a 9'6" 9 weight rod. The B in the model number is for Bass but it should be for Beast!
Glass: Steffen 8'6" 7/8

I fairly regularly use an FF80 that casts well with modern heavy bass taper 8 and 9 weights as well as full sinking lines. Its a hoss of a rod. I also fish a FF85-5 That I think of as more of a 7 weight these days. It casts well with a dt7 (would be a great hopper dropper rod) and also does great with a 250gr sink tip. It doenst have the muscle of the FF80, but I think its a much more versatile rod.

Fisher 8’8” 3 piece for 8wt. Uplock reel seat and fighting butt balance the fulcrum to make comfortable casting all day long.

How do you like that Quickshot 10wt? As in comparison with the Bandit...

The BAG 10wt quickshot is quite capable, but I found that the Bandit is more capable of casting bulky or weighted Muskie flies on a Teeny 300 grain sink tip line. Both do the job well casting surface poppers with a floating line.

Note: My Bandit is the original 7'9" 3 piece version.
