New here, and just a few years into my flyfishing journey.
My father inspired my love for fishing, and one year after I moved to Oregon he out of the blue gifted me a Wade graphite 6wt setup… let’s just say that since then I’ve been “hooked.” As a child he taught me how to surf, and I think his interest in fly fishing was a substitute for surfing- a way to find some solitary time and commune with nature.
He recently passed, and in my grief I decided to get myself a new Orvis fly rod (he always loved Orvis). In the shop I put my hands on a 3wt 7’6” Superfine Glass and couldn’t get the feeling of the rod out of my head for days… so I called them up and ordered it.
Now I’m going through his things, and have discovered a small quiver of fiberglass rods- seems that unbeknownst to me we were on the same trajectory toward glass.
I’m thankful to find this community here, and I’ll forward to continuing my journey beside you all.
Tight lines.
