Introducing myself

Morning all,
just joined so thought a brief introduction was in order, hope I'm in the right department.
I'm an old git / pensioner who's been fishing since a boy 60+ years ago and I live near Oxford, in England.
My first rod was a 7' solid glass job with metal ferrules and wire rings that got used for everything, as kids do.
Owned many rods over the years and still do, including glass, carbon, cane and steel ( believe it or not ) but cane has been my mainstay for dry fly fishing.
I have reluctantly resorted to carbon for multi piece rods when travelling abroad.
I'd like to try and find some short light glass rods for small streams and rivers but can't afford the new Scott, T&T, Hardy offerings,
so am scouring the used marketplace.
Any advice on suitable models in the 6'- 61/2' #3 weight range would be much appreciated.
Tootle pip and thanks for having me.

Welcome aboard Chris. In addition to the thread Trev mentioned, you might also want to visit The Fiberglass Manifesto blog and look under Fiberglass Rod Makers. There you can find a very wide range of rods and prices on new rods, from inexpensive to very expensive. Good luck with your search.

Oxford Chris, you may do well to look into the Bloke fly rods and blanks. They probably have something in the sizes and weights that you're interested in, and I'm under the impression they have fibreglass rods or blanks that they roll in the UK.

Thanks Pete, I'll look into it.
Be very surprised if blanks rolled in the UK TBH as there are no manufacturers here nowadays that I'm aware of.
