Hi Forum Members. A brief introduction. Twenty years a Fish & Game Officer, fourteen years a fishing guide in Central Otago, New Zealand, running Trout Fishing Services, specialising in sight fishing for brown trout in small streams. Now living in Tauranga, home of some of the finest flats fishing in New Zealand. Been fly fishing around 55 years and am passionate about glass. I feel that I know some of you as I have been following this forum daily for around a year. I am sure that I am in good company. Cheers

Welcome. Glad you finally came up the gang plank to come aboard. With your background, you should have a lot to offer here.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I've been out of the trout guiding for twelve years, but I am very happy to do anything I can to help Forum members. From October to the end of May I can be found wading the Tauranga Harbour flats chasing yellowtail kingfish using #6 to #10, and the remainder of the year I chase a smaller species called kahawai (Arripis trutta) on #1 to #4. I spend about 320 days a year fishing. During the kingfish season, I look for the short tail stingrays which are sometimes accompanied by the kings, this is sight fishing at its very best. This sport is also available at the top of the South Island at Golden Bay. A quick search on the Internet will provide short films of the action. Cheers

Thanks for the welcome guys. I hope that I can add to the positive spirit of the Forum. In New Zealand, we had our own glass rod manufacturing going on in the 1960s and into the 1970s, and as some of you will be aware, a Kilwell/Garcia Conlon factory in Rotorua producing rods. The thirst for knowledge can't be quenched. Cheers, Dick

I certainly hope to Bulldog. I am computer illiterate and while the instructions for posting photos are easy instructions for most, for me, they are well over my head. I am sure that will be able to get shown by one of my friends so I am sure that you will see photos of the water, both fresh and salt, that I fish.

May I take this opportunity to personally thank you for your informative posts, some of which have helped me both with purchases and with expanding my knowledge.

Cheers, Dick

Dick thanks for your kind compliments.
The process isn't too tough. Make sure you size photos down to about 700 pixels high, or 1200 pixels wide and save them with a new name on your computer. (You can also resize after you upload the photo using Edit Image option on Imgur)
Get yourself a free Imgur account, and learn how to upload photos. Then clicking on a photo you stored in Imgur will pop up the Bulletin Board code you need to post the photo here.
Regards, Ron Mc

Many thanks Rob, it's a big step for me but I will give it a go.
