Is it too late to get in on this? Looks like a nice drive up from Denver!

There’s not a limit on attendees and there’s no fee. No tshirts or rod giveaways. Just show up and fish!

Count me in!

Dusty, are there any activities planned for the 20th? Or are you expecting that's the day when most people will be arriving?

I'm glad Chris B posted something on FB, otherwise I would have missed this.

I want to attend but it hinges on a couple of items. The biggest item is: will the WY DF&G give me another certificate (completed the Slam in 2007) if I catch the four species in four new streams. The second: I've already committed to a Colorado trip in search of newly identified cutthroat populations in the San Juan and Gunnison drainages, so I would need to try to influence the coordinators of this trip to set the timing to coincide with this conclave (before or after).

I really hope the DF&G will give me another certificate. I've been looking for a reason to get back to Wyoming!

Chris

There are no planned activities the 20th other than most of us will be fishing somewhere.

I'm going to put this on my calendar and hope that my schedule will allow me to attend.

How will the current virus affect this event?

That's a great question and something I don't know that there's an answer to at this point. I will say that right now I still have my plane tickets and am really looking forward to going. I have no clue how all this will turn out but hope we can all still get together at a safe distance to enjoy some fishing.

It certainly could affect the event, however with roughly 5 months to go I am hopeful that we will be able to go on as planned.

I have the event on my calendar. Thinking ahead, however, one of the considerations in terms of the clave should be lead time notice in the event it is cancelled. The rental I have in Alpine has a 60 day notice of cancellation for a full refund. For me, that means no later than June 18. That date might be flexible as the time nears. I am sure there are many others with similar circumstances. While the decision to cancel the rental is an individual decision, as much lead time as possible would be appreciated.

I have a plane ticket purchased as well. Fingers crossed that we're back to life as we knew it a week or so ago by then.

Mark,
Do you think someone parking say, near Mile Marker 26 on 191 would get run off by the rangers after Memorial Day weekend?

The problem is they won't just run you off. You would also get a hefty fine if you don't have a Park fishing license. All the shops in ********* are closed to walk in traffic to get a license, don't know about the Bozeman fly shops.

My Mt. Rainier climb the first week of June was canceled so now I have an extra week of vacation to burn. I will most likely add days to this adventure and spend them in Colorado or Utah.

That is assuming we are back to business as usual by August...fingers crossed!

This is still on my calendar, although I haven’t booked anything. Was hoping to figure out a long road trip, which I guess is still a possibility.

Tom,
Fins & Feathers doesn't have the Park permits yet but, I'll keep checking...they'll probably have them sometime in May...and if businesses are still open on limited basis, they indicate that (for cash) they'll sell the Park permit at the door.

Perhaps. Why test it?

Also, let's not test beyond informational coverage of the hoped-for 'clave. An angler's temperament usually includes enthusiasm and optimism. Patience and observant judgment are part of an angler's mindset, too, and will be very important for a while.

I just saw that WY and ID have suspended issuing new fishing licenses to non-residents. This could really be problematic if the suspensions are still in place by the time the Clave rolls around.

Prepare for the worst - hope for the best. Anything beyond that is simply speculation.
