was there a recent re-design of the website?

it is no longer mobile-friendly on my iphone/iOS/Safari browser.
the website displays very compressed in the right/left direction on the screen

anyone else experiencing this recent glitch?

I caught something from another fly fishing site that really had me jumping through hoops getting rid of it, I think it's all good now with the exception when I open a new tab it is all compressed really small until I open a site up. Maybe you have the same thing going on?

I don’t see any difference on my iPad (usual way I access) but just checked on my iPhone and it appears the main page banner is fully across the screen, but the index stuff is then about half screen width. That sound like it?

My usual suspicion on stuff like this is an iOS update, but my understanding of such things is rudimentary at best.

On my phone, the font size is constant, no longer sizing and anti-scrolling, to make reading a bit more difficult now.
Most likely a php-board change to save them some bandwidth.
I haven't tried the tapatalk version, because I've never liked that presentation.
Everybody can help by making short sentences that left-justify easily.
fwiw, it's still a lot better on a desktop than php-board users who don't resize photos to screen limits.

I see a font change on my pc laptop. Readability is slightly reduced unless I increase font size.

an administrator is quietly and intentionally changing parameters on the forum software.
Photos no longer auto re-size to 750 pixels wide.

Yes, it would be nice if this administrator would make a post and explain why the changes are being made and if there may be a fix for those of us that do try to view this forum on our mobile devices.

It’s been fine for me on my IPad, not my phone, until just now. EArlier this morning, it was ok but now it comes up with print so small I can’t hardly read it.

Same with me. Widened the view resulting in such small text?

Edit: FWIW it looks like the format now works well for a sideways view on my iPhone, which was not the case when I first posted on this thread, so I guess someones working on it. If I got a choice :) I’d rather the format work well with the larger iPad, which still still has the small text/wide screen problem. I only log on with the iPhone in a pinch, usually use the iPad.

I'm guessing there has been another format change, because its scrolling properly on my phone now, and the font size is about perfect.

Still a wider display with smaller text than normal on my iPad but not nearly as bad as earlier today.

Yes, I still exist. I'm sorry I haven't been around, but work and life have interfered mightily. I miss being here.

The administrators have not changed anything on the forum for awhile. The forum runs on phpBB software version 3.0.14, which was released in May of 2015. The issues didn't start with a change here.

The reported issues are with iPhones and iPads. Apple rolled out iOS 12.3 on May 13, 2019 followed by iOS 12.3.1 (May 24, 2019) and iOS 12.3.2 (June 11, 2019). Since June 17th I have received voluminous email from Google about validating mobile usability fixes, in particular "font sizes too small". I suspect this was caused by the same iOS issue that is effecting forum members. If mid-June corresponds with the time frame the forum became hard to read, please bitch at Tim Cook or his designated whipping boy. I can't control what Apple software does to forum content.

Please understand, the forum was designed to be viewed on a computer. I installed Tapatalk to help with issues on phones. If there is a similar service we can use, please let me know. Beyond that, I don't have the skills to design a separate mobile version of the site.

Tom

Tom good to see you post! Thanks for taking the time to enlighten us on the possible source of the issue though don't use those devices for this application.
