I am thinking about the second weekend in July arriving Thursday and ending on Sunday. This will be limited to 6 people at the lodge. The price is 400.00 per person,if you want extra nights it's 100.00 each night.I will have private water for an additional rod fee. This year on the last night we will draw a folded piece of paper out of a hat and some lucky guy wil get one of my unused F2 653's.Looks like we are getting plenty of snow this year so the Ponil should fish for native cutts with the Comanche and Costilla fishing great this time of year.I also have full hookups for one RV........Aurelio

Anyone who hasn’t been should really consider this. The fishing is great and Aurelio and Mj are great hosts and even better people.
Actually considering going again if I can swing the time off of work.

+1 I went in 2017 and would love to go back (Aurelio, unfortunately July doesn't work for me). The hosts, fishing and food are terrific and the reasonable cost is an added bonus. I highly recommend the trip.

Albaquerque. look for the non-stop flights. It's well worth the flight. Just don't expect to loose weight staying with Aurelio

Any one who hasn’t been really should jump on this.

Aurelio,

Wish I could make the dates work, but unfortunately can’t this time. Hopefully next year or the fall if you have one then this year.
Hope all is well with you and MJ.

Aurelio,

Thanks for the PMs. I'll get my deposit in the mail. Really looking forward to this.

For you guys sitting on the fence (and for those who were unaware, like me), there is a nice web site showing nice views of the streams, lodge, and some very nice pics of fish. Costilla Creek fly fishing. Check it out....

Thanks, again, Aurelio.

Update. It is still snowing in the mountains so the small creeks will be fishing great for native cutts, short 3wts and dry flies for the Ponil ,longer 3 or 4wts for the Costilla and a rod that will handle sometimes stiff wind on the Comanche, still have room for 3 more..........Aurelio

One of the creeks mentioned by Aurelio is pure magic, M-A-G-I-C. Just sayin' ;)
Can't wait to get back there. See you in July, Aurelio!

Looking forward to it Robert. I will be sharing a ride from Albuquerque and will be arriving at Aurelio’s sometime late Wednesday. Looking forward to some time relaxing on the front porch! I’ll stop and get some beer on the way in. All the best, Roy

Nope. Only have his 8’2” 4/5 4pc (which you casted last year) and his 7’10” 5wt 3pc. That 5pc of his is quite a remarkable rod. I threw it last year at the Carolina Clave. Probably one of the most accurate rods I’ve cast. I’ve got one of Fred Paddock’s 7ft 3wts I’ll bring.

As soon as I get a flight, I’ll give you a heads up on arrival time. Roy
