Hello from Tallahasee, Fl. I am a flats fisherman, recently sold my Carolina Skiff and returned to fishing from a Kayak which is loads of fun. My occasional flats fishing partner gave me a Kabuto fiberglass rod and Pfluger Medalist reel and I now have a grand total of two fish caught on a fly rod - one was caught 40+ years ago when I was a teenager; the second was a small mouth bass caught in a private pond near my house yesterday. I have just returned from backyard practicing a few minutes ago and have yet to pierce an ear or anything else. But, I cast similar to a centipede trying to roller skate...but learning. Being recently retired, I'm looking forward to a new hobby and suspect I'll be reading a lot of old posts on your site. Hopefully, collecting vintage fiberglass rods and reels is not as contagious as collecting surplus military rifles. If it is, I may be in trouble.

Collecting fly rods and reels shouldn 't be a problem at all. Just sell off some of those surplus military rifles.
