Hello
Great site that I wish I had joined before. Fishing for close on 60 years and almost exclusively fly now. I live in Suffolk, England, and am involved in restoring a small chalk stream that was canalised for coal barges in the 1800s. Wild trout are still present somehow but one is just as likely to catch perch or whitefish which I don't mind at all.
Started off in younger days with cane and glass, onto carbon and now back to glass with Epics and CTS. Occasionally throw a silk line for fun and presentation but only if no one is watching. I'm like that with streamers too!
In my next life I'll be Joe Rotter at Red's Fly Shop.

Howdo KerryJ, that restoration work sounds fascinating. Which stream is it?

It's the River Lark - here's a little piece I did for Eat, Sleep, Fish about it. Regards - Kerry

Hey Kerry - Welcome to the forum. How do you know Joe Rotter? I was fishing with him just last month! Originally from the greater London area, I still have a lot of family in the UK who we visit regularly. In fact we will be over there next summer for three or four weeks. On one of our trips, I spent a day on the Test. Really enjoyed it. Again, welcome to the forum, a great bunch of people. Roy

Thanks Roy.
I don’t know Joe Rotter but watch and learn from his Reds Fly
Videos. He is such a skilled and knowledgeable guy and explains things so
well.
Yeah I’m from London originally but glad to be away from it now.
Funnily enough I fished the Test a few weeks back - apart from a couple of
brown stockies I shocked my host with a pike on a heavy streamer on a short
wire trace that had sneaked into my bag! And on my Epic 480 too - what a
fabulous stick!
Regards from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England.

WOW Kerryj, you are quite a writer! Enjoyed your write up immensely, what a style! You make a fishing trip with no fish caught sound like the adventure of a life time; you make snagging the fly and line sound more exciting than catching a fish.
Thanks for joining up and I hope to read more of your articles....books if you've written them.

Kerry, thanks so much for the additional articles. The first was enormously funny and admittedly I could personally relate to some of it. Enjoyed the review of Andy's guiding; a well paid tribute. Please keep us posted.
