Guys,

This is a long way from fiberglass fly rods ... but I wanted to share something that my wife does. She creats wall hangings and decorative objects with stained glass. She's recently started designing and creating fish for our home and my office.

This fish is ... total 16" long x 6 1/2" wide x 9" tall mounted on black walnut.

Here're a couple of pictures ...

Thanks guys.

This is one of her first proto-types. She's still getting the body shapes and colors down, as well as the "layout" for the mounting and presentation. Next is a two fish "scene."

She's not actually selling these ... yet.

Well- that's no prototype.

The glass choices, lead work, and presentation- and the feeling of movement of the fish- is just fantastic.

We don't have the Dancing Banana emoticon on this forum, sad to say ...

Thats a nice piece.
How long has she been working with stained glass?

Have any of you all seen the stained glass window at the Orvis store in Manchester Vermont?

Middlemac ...

She's elbow deep creating new pieces now ... in the design phase for a 3-D piece as we speak. She donates glass pieces (fish and others) locally and makes then as gifts.

I'll post pictures of new, interesting pieces. That thing in the corner is a Texas star in a circle. It's her trademark of sorts.

Rockthief ...

Do I deserve her? I hope so! Heck, any woman that has no complaints with giving me every Sunday to wave a fly rod is a keeper!

that fish would do nicely for the Fiberglass Fly Rodders emblem on the hat.

Ya think?
