Ordering for the nets is now closed. Thank you to all of you who ordered an FFR net.

Tom

Back for 2010, the Fiberglass Flyrodders Brodin Landing Nets!

For the spring forum project, we will place a group order of laser engraved nets from Brodin. In early 2008 the forum ordered almost three dozen Brodin nets - mostly the Gallatin Ghost net. For those nets Jeanne from Brodin worked up a laser engraving design. This time we will feature our fabulous Fiberglass Flyrodders forum logo. The picture below is a PhotoShop overlay of how I anticipate the nets will look. The final logo size and darkness will vary a little bit from the photo.

Image

Cameron the Magnificent negotiated an amazing discount. Forum members can get a laser engraved Brodin Ghost net or Pro Series net delivered for 80% of list price. The Streambase nets will be about 85% of list. See the table below for the forum member prices. To decide on your net, check out the available models at: Brodin.com or click the individual links. For 2010, there are new models of the Brodin Ghost net, including the smaller Trout and Firehole models. The net accessories can only be purchased with a net, not separately. In addition, we can only order nets with the laser engraving.

We will take orders starting today and continuing through April 30th, when we will send the order to Brodin. It will take a couple weeks for Brodin to process, engrave, and ship the nets. Nets will be shipped directly to the address on your PayPal account.

To order a net, login to PayPal and send your payment to:

The PayPal form has a space to include a comment. Please include your name, forum name, and the net model you wish to purchase in that comment space.

Shipping within the United States is included in the price. If you do not live in the US, please contact me about shipping options. If you aren't a PayPal kind of guy, send me an ***email address removed*** or a forum PM and I'll send you my mailing address. You can send a payment via a money order or personal check.

Tom,

Great idea for FFR 'wear'. .. useful and unique. .. and at a very good price for the quality. I'm going to be in for one, it will just take me a little time to review all the models. (I am even thinking about getting a second one for my Dad for his birthday / Father's day.) Thank you.

Andrew.

Dang, too late. Wanted to check them out in person at my local shop, then totally forgot until tonight. I'll have to jump on the bus early next time around. Those are nice nets.

What was the final count on the number of nets ordered this time around? Thanks to all of the moderators for another great project!

PigsEye, Sorry you missed them this time around. I imagine we will do this again, but it might be more like two years than next year.

Doug, The final count appears to be 15 nets. The popular net this time was the Ghost Firehole (5) followed by the Ghost Gallatin (3).

tom & cameron,
you guys rock for doing this again. though i'm very pleased that i got in on the original order (and got it as a gift), i'm concerned that as my old net won't have the new FFR graphic, it may not help me catch (& release) as many fish. oh well.

I received an email from Chris Brodin letting me know that the nets had shipped from Costa Rica to Charlotte, NC where they would be packaged up and drop shipped to each one that ordered. Hopefully be on everyone's door step in the next week or so.

By what carrier are they being shipped? Do they require a signature for delivery?

My Firehole arrived by UPS, no signature required. The laser logo is clean and clear if not a tad small. These truly are beautiful nets.

My Cutthroat arrived yesterday and it looks great ...

I'm hoping do some trout fishing on Friday with Mrs TDoc and with some luck will be putting the new Brodin to work Image.

Thanks for a great job on this project!

Mark B

Edit: Fished blown out basically flooded conditions Friday PM after severe storms Thurs night and stubbornly stayed with dries (big elk hair caddis) ... my wife and I were both rewarded with a few eager browns to break in the new Brodin and her new reel.

I really liked how the Brodin kept its shape / form in very fast water ... I have never used a net that worked that way and was happily amazed.

Gallatin Ghost was here when I got back to town today. Really nice net with very nicely etched logo. Hopefully I can get out and get it wet this weekend.

Thanks guys for putting this together, great deal for a really first class product!
