2009 was a great year of fishing for me. I thought I would share. I am a brookie man myself and prefer the solitude of the smaller waters. I managed to fish a good bit this year but let other things in my life distract me. Hopefully next year will be different! I am blessed to live in the shenandoah valley and have all the fishing opportunities close at hand. Image

And one of my last trips of the year ... I can't help it, I love brookies more than most ... Image

I found out that they had only put 17 of them in the whole creek so it was a lucky catch for sure! They shocked the wild tigers out of shenandoah park and transferred them to mossy creek along with some browns. Everyone else, feel free to add your pictures as well. It was a stellar year of fishin', hope others experienced the same!

featherlite ... a great year in fishing photos. Thanks for posting. I'll have to put a slide show together before the year runs out. I certainly didn't get out as much as I had hoped but there is always next year.

This year was not kind to me. Few trips to fishing, not so much big fish. The employer at the beginning of this year has changed my work system. Previously I worked in the system of 12/24 hours (12 hours at work, 24 hours free). I had a lot of free time in the middle of the week, I could often ride on the fishing. Currently I work 8 hours each day (Monday to Friday). This is horrible. I can not get used to. But it's coming new year and maybe it will be better than 2009. In Poland at first of January, starts season for salmon and trout, and it is positive.

hey sith,
sorry to hear about your scheduling change. that will certainly mess up your fishing career. i just changed jobs/companies and this next year will be spent in lots of training and proving myself again, so much of my 2010 fishing fun may have to come through friends. i hope you find a way to get out on the water more next year. keep us posted.

featherlite ... how about more cowgirl pics in 2010? HA ...

Pete ... you had an excellent 2009 and I'm guessing some highlights from 2010 as well.

I had a great year. Fished 213 days, 33 bodies of water, 18 of which were urban lakes/ponds within 50 miles of home.
I also got three Texas Parks and Wildlife State Records.

Black Crappie Catch and Release
Black Crappie Big Fish Award
Black Crappie Lake Record Lake Pickens

Jerry,
Nice job on the records!
Is your Boga certified?

That sounds like a personal question. LOL
I actually don't have a Boga. For catch and release in TX it's all about length. Image

213 days on the water! I can only dream of getting out that often. I'm lucky to get 30. Nice job on the records, too!

Cameron - I have yet to wet a line this year, but I'll be sure to post the highlights!

Cheers, Pete

Pete ... please do! I'm afraid to post a number of days I'd expect to be on the water. I know that the reality is much less than my resolution would be.
