TomS,

Welcome to the Fiberglass Flyrodders! When you measure your rod, is that the sum of the length of the two pieces, or is it the length of the assembled rod? Are both pieces the same length?

The blue Garcia Conolon rods were also known as "Two Star" models. They were the value priced option in the Conolon line. However, they were still fairly nice casting rods. I would start with a six or seven weight rod with yours. Try casting it. If the rod feels sluggish or soggy, the line is too heavy and you should try a lighter line. If the rod feels like it hardly bends during casting, the line is too light and you should try a heavier line. The correct line for your rod is the one that works the best when you cast it.

Tom

If I recall correctly the lower end Garcias were built on the same blanks but they just had fewer guides. I would bet a 6wf or 7dt would cast well.

I'm guessing that your rod would have looked something like this nine-foot, two-piece rod when new. The manufacturer's information concerning line weight could have been printed on a sticker which has since been lost. The best you can do is what has already ben recommended: try different lines, starting around a six or seven weight, and move up or down in size depending on the results of your test casts.
