Hello I have inherited a load of fishing rods from my grandfather and in this collection I have discovered a Scot diver glass rod in a silver tube never been used . On looking it up I have read a lot about it being a holy grail of rods would any one be able to shed some light on this and give me a valuation. It is in mint condition never been used . If any one could give me some info I could email some photos if that would help many thanks

If you are looking for the yellow F70/5, this sure looks like a good one.

You are in the right spot. I would think someone in this forum, would love to buy that rod. If you can post pics, that would really help. Make a few more post, and you can post it in the classifieds.

The A-335 serial number makes it a very early 70/5 and suggests it was built on a Lamiglass rolled blank. I've seen only a few multipic Scotts on Lami blanks but there definitely were some. I can't tell from the images whether the blank is smooth sanded. If semi-sanded, which we did with Cal Tackle rolled blanks, it upsets my understanding of the "A" designation being Lamiglas in origin.

New owner is SO LUCKY and a super cool guy, so win-win-win.

BTW Larry, I have an "A" series yellow F81 that I should photograph and send your way. Every time I see one of these SF Scotts I get all giddy...

Amazing rod! I really hope it gets fished and not stored on a shelf.

Ok
I’m the guilty, or lucky one that gets to care for this rod in the future..
Amazingly this rod some how ended up outside of London England..
It was shipped today so when it arrives I will take some high resolution
pictures and make a new post.. This rod will fit very well with my other glass
rods that have substantial heritage.. Maybe a pic or two of my extremely mint
condition Stalker with the Scott F70/5 next to each other as they both started life
in San Francisco in the same decade..
Pictures to come soon
Rod

I was very close to trying to buy this rod and the brown Scott Rodney posted in the classifieds. I knew neither would last long.

I hope everyone enjoys them.

Nice - I was just fishing the anniversary version last week end. Well at least it's brown! Congrats!
