This is the result from a very special order, an unsanded Uni-S 8’ 6wt in 3pc. Inspired by my Western Glass this is my 1st step towards a new series in more traditional glass lengths. Nothing like developing rods during a Montana winter. Flor Improved Wells Handle, Spalted Maple in a LRC Lemke Seat, and Universal Snake Guides.

Thanks for looking!

Congratulations on a new line of rods... that is the same grip as the one on my 865 you made and is extremely comfortable (in fact the 865 is one of my favorite rods period... I'm not a big fan of 5 weights but that rod is something else.... kind of the tip of a 4 with the butt of a 6 and a very very smooth transition in between) I'm sure the new line will be a great compliment to the existing western glass. Hats off to you.

Thanks guys. It has a little less power than the 8’6” 6wt in the butt. Think it will be great on smaller to medium size streams. Can’t wait to start developing the 5 and 4wts. The 3 will probably be different I like my 3’s very full flexing.

An 8' 6wt has got to be the classic glass configuration then, and now. I like your take on it Dusty. Also look forward to hearing more about new 5, 4, and 3wt tapers in development.

Nice rod, would like to try one. Will you be at any of the east coast fly fishing shows in 2018?
