Well I finally got the time and mind set to build my rods up. Fun, challenging and damn my eyesight sucks! Lol. My first rod was an ARE 6'6" 4/5 purchased from a member, he installed the seat and grip and even marked guide placements. I finished it out (after a year of stalling....) made plenty of mistakes. Rod won't be sold, its def mine for keeps. Brown thread, spar varnish finish. 2nd rod was the Phillipson 3M spigot ferrule blank BK66 from the bay site. Reel seat, grip, guides, brown thread all from Proof fly fishing- shout out to Matt @Proof he is a class act. Many many thanks to all on this board for build details that you shared on this site for us newbies. Here is some pictures... sorry prob a lot of pictures.

I'm not sure but I don't see any wraps on the female ends of your tip sections. If they are wrapped I apologize and need too get better glasses. If they are not wrapped, I would recommend wrapping these areas too prevent them from failing, rupturing and/or splitting/cracking while you are using the rods. I also wrap the male end at the spigot for peace of mind. Nice rods, enjoy them.
Respectfully rvreclus

I have not wrapped them, actually didn't even think about it. I'll do that, thanks for the heads up!

Well done! Everything looks great to me. +1 on the recommendation for ferrule wraps.

Looks good but as mentioned before, please wrap the ferrules, especially on the phillipson. It would be a shame to have that blank break.
