Beautiful build! That color reminds me of coffee with just the tiniest bit of cream.

I agree -- love everything about it! Is the blank transparent or is it painted?

Sometimes dreams come true: I've just picked up from Michele Gallo my 8'3" #4 line rod.
It's much more flawless than expected, I'm amazed.

I've also got the opportunity to couple such a wonderful rod with a Kineya Cavous reel al the Alto Reno Fly Fishing Classic 2017 gathering.

Michele,
great glass rod, you should know that my dad has fallen in love with the 7' fast water, so I "lost" it to him...

Blue Charm,
I am sure you will get your rod into some super nice Glomma grayling one day. Get me some pics then.

Best
Dirk

Not in Glomma River in Norway, but in Brenta River much closer to my home last week:

When the man with a 45 meets the man with a rifle, you said, "the man with a pistol is a dead man. Clint Eastwood.
When a man with a slim hook tied fly meets a big big big rainbow trout, you said "the slim hook fly is a dead fly"... ;)

I've got anyway a very pleasant day and something to remember. Cheers my friends!

Before or after lunch?
I'm kidding 'f course. :lol

I'm a very poor caster, please understand my low tech comments. The rod somehow reminds me how the first Scott G series rods cast. Has a sensitive tip and reserve power on butt. I used a SA Supra WF3F line but I'll also give a try with a WF4F line.

I can say it can handle a big fish too, unfortunately my big rainbow opened the hook bend at third jump. Very sad...

Blue Charme,

thank you for these professionally taken pics (If you say you were not the best caster then at least you can really shoot photographs!). Brenta rivers seems to be a very, very beautiful place. It's more than a bonus to fish there with a glass rod made that nice.
The hook seems to be a spearpoint -right. If so that does not make me wonder you lost the fish (personal opinion of course).
For all of you who appreciate Micheles glass rod - just have a short look at his cane rods.

Great stuff (rivers, fish, rods) from Italy!

Cheers
DK

Thank you Dirk, believe me or not all shots are from my cell phone. It's all about Mother Nature, I only wait for the light or colour that give me emotion.

Brenta River is wonderful but the river of two last pics is Adige (Etsch) North of Verona. I understand you like bikes and hiking: you'll find a very long bike path along the river and lots of mountain tracks. Food and wines are gorgeous too.

PS : I met Michele on October 1st to pick up my rod at the Porretta Terme Gathering. I only wiggled his rods for a while, wonderful.

Too many people to talk with at that time (i.e. Ari T Hart, Edoardo Scapin, Massimo Masi, Sergio Dal Lago and other rod makers and fly tiers from all over the world). I will be in touch with Michele again.

Dirk, the hook is TMC 902 BL #16. I tied what I call "Faux Devaux" (fake Devaux) B.W.O. , a simplified Devaux style fly.
Hook wire is very very thin. I was looking for graylings in this season; the big pig rainbow sipped my fly into a foam eddy.
