Long time since i posted here but I stay tuned at this page on a regular basis.

I must admit this build is very much inspired by Marty Romeo`s builds - I like his style.

I`ll let the pictures speak for themselves.....Bellinger reel seat, Arguello stripping guide, Backwinder fly reel and of course - James Green badassblackglass.

Those thread colors are just outstanding on the black blank. The reel is no slouch either.

Love it! The wraps did not bleed through black, that seems tough to do. How does it cast/fish?

Love the rod, and reel. The vinyl LP is a classic too.

Thank you gents.

Driftles - I've only "lawn cast " it yet, hope to get it on the water soon ( seson start is just around the corner here in Norway ).

First impression is amazing, a bit slow but still powerful. I loaded the reel with a 406 line #4 DT and they worked well together.

@Gard I wanted to bump this thread to ask now that you used it for a while, how does it cast? Do you like that it is parabolic and are you still using 4 wt.

Hi.

Still using a 4wt and still love this rod with its parabolic action.

Spent many hours on the water with this rod last summer, and it is now my no 1 rod for dryfly fishing.
I used the DT 406 4wt line and they make a perfect combo.

Very nice. Very classic build using premium components, finished with expert workmanship and fished with excellent results.

Great looking build.
I'll grab inspiration for the 8'0" #4 line Diamondback Meeker black I'm waiting for.

That is a beautiful build indeed.

How are you liking the 406 fly lines? do you use the on any of your other rods? Its about time for me to replace some of my fly lines and I was interested in trying out their products since they seem to be designed with FG in mind.
