It's a dangerous thing to publicly declare a favorite rod and reel but I think it's safe to say that this is it.
This is a recently completed 70p (#7-17 = the rod this year) with my Kineya 310b that was given for my birthday last month. I have the nasty habit of selling my personal rods and reels out from under myself.
I won't sell these.

A few details:
My 70p 7' 4wt 4 piece blank in 'stout' color.
Java Gossamer silk.
Flor grade ventilated grip.
My brass cap and ring darkened and oil rubbed.
Snake Brand lite wire Universal ECOating guides, darkened.
Allan low frame #8 stripper.
Paired with a Kineya 310b (2 7/16" bimetal 5.1 oz) with half of a 406 Fly Lines DT4 and a hand tied 7' pocket water leader.

Dog: Stella

Truly a thing of beauty!!! Dangerous or not, we all pick favorites, and what a pair of favorites that is.

Another nice job! The ventilated grip is a nice also! I can't wait for your 64p to arrive.

I like the stealthiness of the build. Still on the fence about the ventilated cork, never fished a rod with one.

mhmm, hmmm... if you still have this at the Coulee Clave I will have to give it a go.

You know, if I had a ventilated grip on my 64p there would be all kinds of indecision going on! (I'm glad you're getting one of those rods - you'll enjoy it I think!)

phenomenal setup, I have the same problem of selling all of the rods I plan on keeping for myself. There is a distinct reason I own a 70p, one of my favorite rods as well.

I acquiesce, I am utterly dismayed. I can not come to grips with the master of subtle perfection preferring to build such a grip for himself. Doth he surrender to his age and generation? I am perplexed and cannot abdicate to this newfound venture and doctrine. I fear a hasty sale is forthwith despite the mighty convictions of Sir Barclay, the gentleman from the Carolinas, formerly from the far western state of Missouri, where he, I doubt, would have ever embarked on such a frivolous endeavour.

Just beautiful! The metal work is exquisite. I'll admit to having a hard time getting used to the ventilated-grip idea, but I'm guessing it's both comfortable and functional. I'm concerned, though, about that design being vulnerable to cork weevils.

Gorgeous. Beautiful simplicity. I love the aged brass of the reel seat and reel.

Beautiful set up, but Stella seems to be looking askance at that grip; I suppose she is more into traditional grips.

Chris, that is a beautiful combo! I have been thinking about a Ross Lt for my 70p, I love that look.

Really nice. Is the darkened and oil rubbed brass going to be a build option? I like the look!

the Kineya 310b is a treasure, really like the oil rub on the reel seat, like the stout blank, not so sure about the ventilated grip, never cast one though maybe something going on there.

Beautiful rod Chris. I love my 70p and the only way I might give it up would be to get one in the stout. Very nicely appointed. Ventilated grips are growing on me. I know you tried to tempt me with one on my 64p and I wish I had listened.
