This is a "project" that I started somewhere around 4 years ago. I finally got motivated when sorting through my stash of unfinished projects and decided to complete this one.

It is a 7ft 7wt five piece rod. It handles a 7wt bass taper and bass bugs very well. It is perfect for some of the small creeks that hold larger bass in my area, or even when using a sink tip and articulated streamers. I would even use in FL in the mangroves for redfish, it is plenty strong for that.

I did the rod in brown with dark brown wraps to satisfy the traditionalists in our midst. However, Perhaps I should have stepped out there and gone after the tournament anglers with red. :)

Here is a quick picture I snapped.

Great build and a cool blank. Where does one acquire such a blank?

The rod started life as a Berkeley pac rod. I stripped the rod down, made a new upper tip and painted the blank. Other items such as the reel seat, grip, etc. were just items I had.

I tried doing that with one of those Berkleys several years ago and ended up destroying the blank.Amazing job.

Nice! I have one of those pack rods. Comes in a hard plastic clam shell case. Mine looks no where near as nice though :)
