I have an 8.5-foot 4 weight stalker that I bought as a blank in 1974 when Winston was in SF. Probably very few sold in that size (it's extremely "soft") but they do exist in > 8 foot lengths.

This is one of my favorite threads. Wish had the ability to edit older posts to add our replacement photographs from those blocked by the bandits at Photobucket. A couple photos of a vintage Winston Glass rod I posted earlier in the original fiberglass color and a slightly more recent SF Winston glass eight weight in the more common Fisher color.
