With the epoxy coating protecting the foil, the epoxy would have to go first. That can certainly happen with
toothy critters. But whatever is under the epoxy is going to be subject to damage once the clear coat fails
whether foil, marker, paint, or the body itself.

Wow! ... as complex a process as that is you sure make it look easy and do-able. I think I'll steal ... err ah ... borrow your foiling and impression technique and try it on some foam ones and see if it works ... truly impressed.

Great looking poppers!
Really like the trick for getting the scale effect on the foil, simple but damn clever.

Excellent tutorial.

Well done all around really.

Thanks for all the really nice compliments. I enjoyed sharing the techniques with you all. I just wish I had put my notes and pictures on a disc or saved them as a pdf while I was posting the procedure I use. I think it would be a big problem to go back and try to do it all now.

Dirk, I have to agree with all of the comments. Your photos and text are as good a start-to-finish tutorial as I've seen. So concise, clear, and easy to follow. You could use this as a model for making similar "how-to tie it" pieces and together they would make a very nice little book.

Can't you copy and paste the text and pics from your post to create a pdf file?

-Pat

Pat, I'm going to try to make some kind of document out of this material. Stippled popper sent me some pictures and text on a disc, and I'm going to make an attempt to put one together.
Thanks,
Dirk
